Pakistan Finishes Asian Games 2026 With 10 Medals – Best Haul Since 2002

Pakistan has ended its Asian Games 2026 campaign with 10 medals, recording its strongest performance at the continental event in more than two decades.

The national contingent finished the Aichi-Nagoya Games in Japan with two silver and eight bronze medals. It was Pakistan’s highest Asian Games medal total since the 2002 Busan Games, where the country won 13 medals.

Pakistan Wins 10 Medals at Asian Games 2026

Pakistan’s two silver medals came from men’s cricket and men’s team squash.

In cricket, Pakistan lost the gold-medal match to India by 19 runs. Hasan Nawaz produced an impressive 96 from 51 balls, but Pakistan finished at 192-6 while chasing India’s 211-6.

The men’s squash team also reached the final but lost 2-0 to Malaysia, securing another silver medal for Pakistan.

Pakistan collected its eight bronze medals across several sports, including women’s cricket, men’s hockey, men’s volleyball, men’s singles squash, MMA, shooting and esports.

Veteran shooter Ghulam Mustafa Bashir was among the medal winners, taking bronze in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event. Pakistan also claimed a PUBG Mobile bronze after finishing third behind Thailand and China.

Best Performance Since 2002

The 10-medal haul represents a clear improvement compared with Pakistan’s recent Asian Games campaigns.

Pakistan won only three medals at the previous Hangzhou Games, compared with four in 2018, five in 2014 and eight in 2010. In 2002, Pakistan had secured 13 medals.

Despite the improvement, there was one major disappointment: Pakistan failed to win a gold medal and finished 29th on the final medal table.

Still, the return to double-digit medals offers some positive signs for Pakistan sports, particularly with medals coming from a wider range of disciplines.

The challenge now will be turning these silver and bronze performances into gold medals at future international events.
