HEC LAW-GAT Test 2026 – Test Date, Roll Number Slip and Latest Schedule

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has shared the latest schedule for the Law Graduate Assessment Test (LAW-GAT) 2026, an important exam for law graduates planning to apply for enrolment as advocates in Pakistan.

According to the HEC Education Testing Council (ETC), the upcoming LAW-GAT will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Online registration for this session closed on September 27, 2026.

LAW-GAT Roll Number Slip 2026

HEC currently lists Friday, October 9, 2026 as the tentative date for issuing LAW-GAT roll number slips.

Registered candidates should check the HEC ETC portal regularly. The roll number slip contains important information, including the candidate’s test centre and reporting details.

Because HEC marks the October 9 date as tentative, candidates should watch for any change in the official schedule.

HEC LAW-GAT 2026 Schedule

  • Registration closed: September 27, 2026
  • Roll number slip: October 9, 2026 (tentative)
  • LAW-GAT test: October 18, 2026
  • Expected result: November 6, 2026

The November 6 result date is listed in HEC official 2026 ETC Test Calendar.

Who Needs to Take LAW-GAT?

LAW-GAT is intended for candidates who have completed a bachelor’s degree in law or an equivalent qualification from a university recognised by HEC and the Pakistan Bar Council.

Qualifying LAW-GAT is required before an eligible law graduate can apply to a Bar Council for enrolment as an advocate.

The test consists of multiple-choice questions, and candidates need at least 50 out of 100 marks to qualify. The qualifying score is valid for two years, and candidates are allowed a maximum of seven attempts.

On test day, candidates should bring a printed roll number slip and original valid CNIC or passport. HEC advises applicants to follow the details mentioned on their roll number slip carefully.

Candidates should rely on the official HEC ETC portal for any change in the October 18 test schedule.
